Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is focused on helping to drive forward sustainable economic growth – with local business, education providers, the third sector and the public sector working together to achieve this. We help to foster the relationships for partnership working to flourish.
Dacorum Borough Council works hard to attract local, national and international companies to the area which boasts the largest business park in the South East, excellent location and transport links and a highly skilled work force. Dacorum is home to over 6,500 businesses with more than 600 based on the Maylands Business Park including Kodak Alaris, FFEI, Amazon and Britvic.
There are over 8,000 businesses in the district, most of which are small businesses. 87% of businesses are micro-businesses and employ under 10 staff. There are 20 (0.2%) employers with over 250 staff. Many of the larger businesses are known nationally and globally, especially within the management consultancy, legal and financial sectors. These include Deloitte, Aecom, PwC, Premier Foods, Logica and Aon Hewitt. Two major world renowned centres of excellence in environmental issues are located in the district- Rothamsted Research in Harpenden and the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
Through the collaboration of BRE, Rothamsted Research, The University of Hertfordshire and with the support of St Albans City and District Council and Oaklands College, The Green Triangle aims to establish Hertfordshire as a globally renowned centre of excellence in green technology.
