M1/M25 Growth Area Forum

The growth of London, benefits of HS2 and the vital role the creative industries play all helped shape the debate for our first M1/M25 Growth Area Forum.

David Gauke, Financial Secretary to the Treasury and MP for SW Hertfordshire, and Richard Harrington, MP for Watford, attended on 10 July at Rothamsted Research Centre.

Key Speakers included:

Barney Stringer: Director, Quod, on the implications of London’s growth

Scott James-Eley: Skills and Employment Strategy Manager, HS2, on the employment and commercial opportunities this could bring to SW Herts

Roger Morris: Managing Director, Elstree Studios, on the thriving creative industry and its contribution to UK plc.

Business, local authority and Government representatives were invited to have their say on the barriers and opportunities for economic growth in the vital transport corridor. We will be reporting on the outcomes of this Forum.
