Quarterly update

We have published our latest quarterly economic update. The headlines for Hertfordshire are:

  • Business conditions continue to improve on the back of growing consumer confidence, near zero inflation and an easing of credit.

  • Average house prices in Hertfordshire where the monthly change in prices continues to outstrip the national trend. Average house prices in the county are just shy of £300,000.

  • The number of people in Hertfordshire claiming Job Seekers’ Allowance fell by almost 3,000 in the last 12 months.

  • Figures published in June by UK Trade and Investment highlight continuing growth in the number of Inward Investment successes in Hertfordshire with a 60% increase in new jobs created on the previous year.
