Envoy Programme launched
The Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership has launched and is delivering its newly established Envoy Programme. It is made up of a small and select cohort of influential business leaders invited to join the Programme, covering a wide range of industry sectors, who are willing to work with the LEP towards the mutual goal of economic growth in the county.
Its aim is to use business expertise to find creative ways to unlock challenges to local growth and help secure support for future Government-funded projects that will benefit the county. We know there are several challenges facing businesses today including the retention and recruitment of skilled staff, lack of commercial space in major towns and how our congested roads are impacting on productivity.
We want to gain an enhanced understanding of business needs which can be built into our plans for economic growth. The aim is to ensure that the voice of business and enterprise is heard in the plans laid out by the LEP.
For big business it is an opportunity for ongoing dialogue with, and strategic input on, Herts LEP thinking beyond single issue matters directly affecting them. In addition, joining the Envoy Programme is free and enhances a business’ corporate reputation.
By helping business understand what the Hertfordshire LEP is doing the Programme essentially creates a group of external advocates for the LEP To government, industry and external investors, bringing improved visibility and boosting the reputation of the LEP within the local business community. This all contributes to the overarching shared goal of improving economic growth in Hertfordshire.
We hope that as the Envoy Programme develops we can start to find ways to address some of these challenges together.
