South Oxhey Regeneration Phase 2 Approved
Hertfordshire LEP has approved a total of £2.2m for a mixed use regeneration project in South Oxhey.
The existing 1950s shopping parade and sub-standard social housing will be replaced with attractive high quality buildings and public realm. The new mixed use redevelopment will consist of:
- An 18,000 sq. ft. anchor food store
- Around 37,222 sq. ft. net of other retail uses
- 514 new homes including at least 96 social rented homes and 21 shared ownership
- Enhanced public realm and connections to the station
It could enable an adjacent development giving the potential to add further jobs and homes.
Led by Three Rivers Council, the new development will leverage over £110m of private investment, generate construction jobs and create or safeguard more than 270 long-term retail jobs. Construction is programmed to take place from 2016 to 2022.
