Garden, £2-£3

Cadwell Farm,

With over 12 acres of lavender the fields are a haven for wildlife and visitors alike. A must see for photographers and families, the lavender grows in rows on a gentle chalky hillside that you are encouraged to explore.

With five different varieties growing there is something for everyone to see from early June right through until August. Groups can contact the farm to arrange for a tour with one of the family who can explain the history of lavender in the area and how the lavender is gown and harvested.

The fields have been featured in the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Times and Sunday Times as well as GMTV and BBC 3 Counties Radio. They also regularly feature in local magazines and photography websites. The feeling of walking through the lavender transports you to a slower pace of life and after you've relaxed in the fields you can browse the small farm shop where you can read about the history of lavender in Hitchin, buy your own plants or some of the handmade products from our own lavender.

Easily accessible from the A1 the site has ample parking and is close to the historic market town of Hitchin. Walkers and cyclers are welcomed and well served by local footpaths and bridleways.
