Work is due to start next month on an ambitious enterprise centre in Hoddesdon which is set to create 300 jobs, support 120 businesses and inject £20m into the local economy.
Broxbourne Borough Council appointed Hitchin-based Ashe Construction to undertake the building work at the site in Pindar Road in February with the aim of it opening this Autumn.
Hertfordshire LEP invested £1.8m from its Growth Deal into the the £4.6m project, which is co-funded by Broxbourne Borough Council, to provide 20,000 square feet of modern flexible serviced business space.
The Centre will focus on the needs of start-up businesses and those existing businesses seeking to grow with the provision of quality accommodation with easy-in, easy-out terms. Other benefits include on-site management, serviced meeting rooms, high speed internet access, free parking and business support.
Hertfordshire LEP Board Chairman John Gourd said: "I am delighted that building work is due to start on this centre which we believe will encourage innovation, business expansion and have a positive knock-on effect on skills and employment in the vital A10/M11 Growth Area corridor .”
