Hertfordshire received a royal visit this week as The Duke of Cambridge officially inaugurated Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London –The making of Harry Potter.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry joined William at the event where they met with LEP Board member and Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Dan Dark.
The royals took a lesson in wand combat and received a presentation on state of the art production techniques including motion capture and 3D animation. They also took a walk through the world of The Dark Knight film trilogy, viewing costumes and props from the hugely popular franchise.
Hertfordshire has a rich history of supporting the arts and boasts a wealth of creative industries with big studios like Elstree and Leavesden based in the county. St Albans also held its inaugural film festival earlier this year in honour of resident, Arthur Melbourne-Cooper, one cinema’s founding fathers.
