The regeneration of the South West Hertfordshire town will include more than 500 homes in a mix of private sale, shared ownership and affordable housing, as well as 55,000 sq ft of retail space and enhanced public spaces, transforming an area that is in need of modernisation and enhancing the quality of life for those who live there.

A total of 514 homes will be built in three phases, with the overall development expected for completion in 2022.

The groundbreaking ceremony held on 6 December in Oxhey Drive marked the beginning of work on Phase 1A. Councillor Sara Bedford, leader of Three Rivers District Council, alongside Mike Woolliscroft from Countryside and Sean Egan from Home Group welcomed and outlined to stakeholders the community benefits of the regeneration project.

Hertfordshire LEP Board Member Tina Barnard attended the event and said:

“We are delighted to have invested £980,000 to support this comprehensive redevelopment within the heart of South Oxhey, which will help to meet local housing needs, attract new residents and dramatically enhance the quality of life for its existing community.”
