Do you care passionately about the Chilterns countryside and its future? Here is an excellent opportunity to get involved in projects to conserve and promote the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and contribute to its management.

The Chilterns Conservation Board, which is the main statutory body caring for the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has two vacancies for Board members. Members provide leadership and direction for the organisation as a whole, using skills, experience and knowledge for the benefit of the Conservation Board.

Anyone can apply for the positions and the closing date for applications is 9th November 2015. It is a voluntary position with a commitment of 1- 2 days per month to attend meetings and events. Candidates ideally will live in the Chilterns or one of its neighbouring towns.

You don’t need any specialist knowledge or expertise to become a Board member, but an interest in and appreciation of the English countryside is a must. Experience of working with businesses and securing support for good causes would be particularly useful.

The appointment will run for three years initially. Board members do not receive salaries but do get a small allowance to cover travel expenses.
