The latest round of calls for European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) projects has been announced with a deadline for the end of next month. 

1. Low Carbon: This call is looking to support the shift towards a low carbon economy in all sectors promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy use and research and innovation of low-carbon technologies.

2. SME Support: This call is looking to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises by promoting entrepreneurship, supporting the creation and the extension of advanced capacities for products, services and development and supporting the capacity to grow in regional, national and international markets.

3. Research and Innovation: This call is looking to promote research and innovation, business investment and enhancing research and innovation infrastructure and capacities to develop excellence.

Hertfordshire LEP Board Member and ESIF Committee chairman Councillor Tony Jackson said: "We have been allocated around £29m European Regional Development Funds to support economic growth and business competitiveness across Hertfordshire from 2015. This will support the priorities outlined in both our EU Strategy and LEP Strategic Economic Plan to encourage innovation, drive business expansion and support our small and medium sized businesses."
