It has only been a few weeks since its official launch party at Rothamsted Research but Hertfordshire IQ is already off to a flying start.

At an event for 80 guests from local businesses, partners and stakeholders, Mark Bretton, Chair of Hertfordshire LEP set out an ambition for Hertfordshire IQ to become the UK’s leading place for innovative, sustainable businesses. Hear what he had to say here:

Building on this ambition, Prologis Park at Hertfordshire IQ has continued to go from strength to strength, attracting a total of five new occupiers, including three from the construction industry supply chain – a key target sector that will help Hertfordshire IQ deliver 8,000 new jobs.

Core to Hertfordshire’s emerging Local Industrial Strategy, Hertfordshire IQ is linked to strategic outcomes for the county, with the potential for national significance. Hertfordshire IQ is the western commercial anchor of the county’s east-west growth axis, which is likely to accommodate around 50% of Hertfordshire’s housing growth, with an Enterprise Zone and a garden community at each end.

A successful bid to secure status and funding for Hemel Garden Communities which aims to create 12,000 new homes was recently announced.
