We were delighted to welcome a group of visitors from the German city of Bremen to share good practice on how best to support young people into training and the workplace.
The LEP’s Skills and Employment manager Norman Jennings gave an overview of how the LEP is growing the skills base in Hertfordshire during the visit to the LEP’s offices at the BioPark, Welwyn Garden City, on 10 March.
The visit, organised by Hertfordshire County Council, gave a valuable opportunity to share ideas and experiences with professionals from training providers, social services and other similar organisations overseas.
Hertfordshire County Council’s Service for Young People has developed a partnership with Bremen City Council and other organisations to learn how best to support the next workforce generation, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This was the second of two fact-finding and information-sharing missions between the two councils with both working together to seek further EU funding to develop future training projects.
