MIPIM UK is the country’s largest exhibition and conference for property professionals, providing a market place for UK players and international investors to meet to discuss projects and opportunities to do business. The event was attended by over 4,000 visitors who came to explore opportunities, build partnerships and potentially close deals.

In the post-Brexit era it is more important than ever to show that the UK and Hertfordshire remain open for business. To that end the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership led local authorities, the University of Hertfordshire and the Hertfordshire Growth Hub in taking a stand at MIPIM UK.

Hertfordshire demonstrated to potential investors why it is perfectly placed for business thanks to its excellent transport links, quality of life, highly skilled workforce, thriving key sectors and entrepreneurial culture. A seminar was given to promote the new Enviro-Tech Enterprise Zone on the second day and throughout the exhibition the delegations met with developers, consultants and public sector bodies, generating useful leads and engaging with a range of investors.

Stand visitors were able to access a microsite which maps for the first time the county’s key growth opportunity areas. The microsite is expected to leverage further interest from property developers and investors looking for sites and interested in major projects coming forward in Hertfordshire over the coming months. This film was also shown to investors at the exhibition which showed why Hertfordshire is perfectly placed for business.

Andrew Lee, Enterprise Zone Manager at Hertfordshire LEP, said: "We were delighted that Hertfordshire took a stand this year. Being on the doorstep of London with considerable assets, particularly around our new Enviro-Tech Enterprise Zone, as we well as significant opportunities coming forward in our towns meant we had a lot to talk about to potential investors. We anticipate that our combined presence at MIPIM UK has strengthened our offer."
