A Hertfordshire-based company has helped a self-employed plumber win a national award at a prestigious ceremony at the House of Lords.

Paul Dolman was nominated for the Enterprising Learning award by employability and skills development provider The Consultancy Home Counties Ltd (TCHC) on 23 October.

Paul was made redundant after spending 10 years working in a power station maintaining, repairing and rectifying faults. After deciding to become a self-employed plumber Paul signed up for a course run by TCHC which helped him develop a business plan and identify his skills gaps.
