Employers are invited to find out more about how to take on people with learning disabilities in their workplace and the support available to achieve this.

Hertfordshire County Council is hosting its first Learning Disability Confident event to raise awareness about some of the work that the county council, in partnership with the four Hertfordshire colleges, is leading on.

The event at the Ramada Hotel, Hatfield, on Tuesday 9 June will show that offering paid employment to people with learning disabilities is straightforward and can bring huge benefits. It is aimed at business leaders who can provide leadership support for change in their organisations, and will be encouraged to pledge their company’s commitment to make this happen.

The county council and the colleges are building on the Department for Work and Pensions Disability Confident campaign, that encourages employers to think differently about disability.
