Local business start-up facility, My Incubator, are thrilled to reveal the winner of their Easter competition to win a year’s free workspace, worth over £1000. Chris Lee of ‘The Repair Shed’, a social enterprise run for older men at risk of loneliness, will shortly move into the incubator based at the btc, Stevenage, to help nurture & grow his business.

The competition, launched in March 2014, ran for 6 weeks and involved applicants tweeting a new idea or pitching their existing business to My Incubator’s Twitter account ‘@MyIncubator’. After thorough evaluation of the many entries, Chris was selected as the overall winner.

Chris said, "As someone with a background in marketing, I was intrigued by the competition. It's always a great challenge to communicate business ideas clearly and concisely. I'm delighted, to have won and can’t wait to work alongside like-minded entrepreneurs.” Being crowned as the winner means that Chris will not only be given his own hot desk, but he will also receive business review meetings on a monthly basis with an experienced on-site Business Advisor.

The staff at My Incubator wish to thank everybody who tweeted throughout the duration of the competition. My Incubator Stevenage Manager, Alex Shoobert, said, “We obtained many impressive entries, making the decision really difficult. Chris and ‘The Repair Shed’ particularly stood out to us; we look forward to welcoming him to My Incubator, Stevenage. This is an innovative business idea which will have a really positive impact on the lives of those involved. Not only are we excited about helping ‘The Repair Shed’ to grow, but we hope the competition has raised the overall awareness of My Incubator, making more entrepreneurs aware of the facilities & support available to them.”

There are currently 6 My Incubators in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire located in Luton, Ware, Potters Bar, Stevenage, Bedford and Watford. To find out more, please visit www.myincubator.co.uk
