Richard Harrington

Watford MP Richard Harrington has been named as the Prime Minister’s apprenticeships' adviser.

Richard Harrington welcomed the rise in apprenticeships in his constituency, and the wider growth of apprenticeship starts across the UK in a recent Parliamentary Questions. In reply, George Osborne confirmed the Government has a target of three million apprenticeships, and congratulated Harrington on becoming the Prime Minister’s apprenticeships adviser.

Richard Harrington is the Conservative MP for Watford and campaigns on apprenticeships and youth unemployment. In 2012 he launched the Watford Apprenticeship Programme and during this year’s National Apprenticeship Week, he was joined by Minister of State for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education Nick Boles on a number of visits. 

Nick Boles has also nominated Richard Harrington to host any future Apprenticeship Ambassador Network events that the SFA holds in the House of Commons.
