Hertford Regional College is the prime contract holder for the delivery of ESF funded English and maths qualifications for the employed in the East of England.
The contract started in October 2014 and is due to end in July 2015. They are offering English and maths qualifications to any employees aged 19 or over and working for a minimum of 8 hours per week (volunteers are also eligible).
SMEs are also eligible for an incentive of up to £800 per learner for a maximum of 3 learners. This incentive is to cover costs of allowing employees time to work towards qualifications.

Where are they now?
HRC have now been delivering for 5 months through 31 sub-contractors made up of FE colleges and private training providers. They have a range of delivery methods available which include:

•Online learning/Remote Learning
•121 training and/or group sessions
•On and/or off the job training
•Twilight sessions (for those shift workers)

Next Steps
They have funding for 2200 learners and have 5 delivery months remaining on this project , therefore are working hard to recruit as many employers and employees across the East as it can. This funding is unique as it is open to all sized employers and not just to SMEs and so HRC are using this opportunity to
target large employers as well as small and have been successful to date with organisations such as Debenhams, Arla Foods, KFC, Pound World and the Ministry of Defence.
