The county’s destination management service, Visit Herts, is excited to announce the launch for both the county’s new tourism brand and its consumer website.
From Friday 10th June, national and international visitors can go to www.visitherts.co.uk and explore what Hertfordshire has to offer, from sensational sight-seeing to exciting events.
The new website will also have a live events calendar, accommodation listings and details on each of the county’s ten diverse districts.
Visit Herts chief executive Sandra Matthews-Marsh MBE said: “We are absolutely thrilled to unveil our new consumer website this week.
“We’ve been working hard to produce something that mirrors not only our brand values and the vision of Visit Herts, but also the excitement, elegance and warm welcome that visitors can expect in Hertfordshire.
“We want to define Hertfordshire as the place to create magical memories and a premier tourist destination for the UK, and trust that our new website will start many people on the journey to the county.
“As with any new website, VisitHerts.co.uk will continue to grow every week, every month, as we learn about more tourism businesses in the county and we encourage organisations and businesses to get in touch with us about working with us on this.”
The website was created by Red Bullet Web Design and centres on Visit Herts’ vibrant new brand created by leading design agency WTF Ltd.
Hertfordshire LEP representative Cllr Tony Jackson, who sits on the Visit Herts Partnership Group, said: “This website marks a big step forward in Visit Herts’ mission to strengthen Hertfordshire’s tourism offer as an exciting, varied and invigorating place to visit not just for incoming visitors but also for residents who want to explore all there is to offer on their doorstep.”
Derrick Ashley, Cabinet Member for Environment, Planning and Transport at Hertfordshire County Council said: “The launch of the new Visit Herts website will showcase the wonderful sights, events and experiences on offer in Hertfordshire. We are confident it will boost tourism and the local economy by positioning the county as a major tourist destination in the UK, while enabling more people to enjoy and explore Hertfordshire.”
Following extensive research and workshops with investors, businesses and stakeholders, the chosen Visit Herts brand incorporates a large heart and stag’s antlers as a nod to both the county’s common Herts abbreviation and hart (deer) emblem. The brand slogans compel visitors to ‘share’ the stories, drama, adventures, love, and magic they experience in the county.
Visit Herts’ new brand will be rolled out across its social media channels and visitors are encouraged to sign up to Visit Herts’ e-newsletter via the new website and join conversations on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Visit Herts will populate and build on the website on an ongoing basis as their marketing campaigns and partnerships with local tourism businesses continue to grow.
WTF is an award winning creative agency based in London. Recent design campaigns include Game of Thrones for HBO, branding for the Olympic Stadium London and West Ham United’s new identity.
