Local business start-ups and college students are being offered the chance to try their hand at running a market stall for the first time.
The start-ups, which have all been supported by local enterprise agency, Wenta, will be joined by students from the Creative and Enterprise Campus at Hertford Regional College, Ware where Wenta’s East Herts office is based.
East Herts Council invited Wenta and Hertford Regional College as part of ‘Love Your Local Market’ fortnight, an initiative celebrating the UK’s public markets.
Liza Armstrong, Wenta Business Advisor, said: “Having this opportunity to test-trade on a market stall is invaluable to our start-up clients. Selling directly like this to customers is a terrific way for start-ups to gauge how popular their products are and to receive feedback on them. We are grateful to East Herts District Council for inviting us to take part.”
Market shoppers will be able to browse and buy goods such as toys, cakes and art prints from the start-ups as well have an opportunity to find out more about Wenta and Hertford Regional College and what they have to offer.
The start-ups and students will be at Hertford market on Saturday 28th of May and Ware Market on Tuesday 31st of May.
