The Careers and Enterprise Company

Hertfordshire LEP is delivering The Careers and Enterprise Company programme locally in partnership with YC Hertfordshire. It aims to create lasting links between schools and employers by connecting senior figures from the local business community – an Enterprise Adviser – with schools. The Enterprise Adviser then works with the schools to develop enhanced careers advice and help prepare young people for future jobs and careers.

Hertfordshire LEP is delivering the programme as part of its commitments to increase the delivery of impartial, independent advice and guidance and career education for young people; develop our future workforce and, in particular, help young people transition from school to employment; and help mould the future workforce to meet the needs of local employers.

There are currently over 68 Enterprise Advisers and 85 schools signed up to the programme to date across the county. Significant progress is being made in helping schools to deliver effective careers education strategies that are tailored to local employers' needs.

Hertfordshire LEP manages and coordinates the programme, which is delivered in partnership with YC Hertfordshire.
